We headed to Abilene, Texas. It was beautiful and humid. Our first stop was at a shop called "B-still Fiber Arts and Quilt Studio" (used to be called Quilt Shop in the Oaks). Brenda, the owner said she is down sizing her fabric and increasing her yarns. She has wonderful printed canvases for cross stitch and needle point! There is ample parking. We didn't stop at the chocolate shop. Our next stop was in Weatherford, Texas. The quilt shop was a cute old house called Quilting Around. They have mostly Civil War and 30's fabric and some fun grunge. Parking is tight. We met some great people there that suggested we go to Gibson's (an Ace Hardware store) They had a good selection of Moda fabric at a great price. Parking is ample. Our last stop of the day was in Fort Worth and it is a fairly new shop called Hollis Threads. It's owned by a mom and daughter and Jax. Mostly modern fabric. They hold classes and have long arm services. They also will be participating in a quilt shop hop.
